The Dry-Blood Triglycerides Lab Test
High Triglycerides Reduced Nutritionally At 40+ - The Dry Blood Triglycerides Lab Test

Dried Blood Lipid Assay: Home Collected Triglycerides Lab Test

Already being used extensively for mass screening programs and for measurement of glucose, insulin, glycosylated hemoglobin, and steroids, dried blood on filter paper has been found useful for the measurement of such lipids as cholesterol and triglycerides.

Cholesterol and triglycerides are highly stable in dried serum and are readily transferable to a liquid phase.

The good agreement between values in dried serum and fresh blood samples supports the validity of the measurement of these analytes in dried serum (Clinical Chemistry. 2001;47:1113-1115).

The adaptation of lipid assays to dried blood has been found useful for many applications such as regular monitoring of cholesterol and triglycrides to prevent cardiovascular health problems.

Keeping that in mind many clients in our practice have found the following dried blood lipid assay exceptionally helpful.

BIOSAFE LIPID PANEL

>> Home Collected Triglycerides Lab Test <<

FDA Approved, Certified, Clinical Laboratory Test
from a Simple Nick of the Finger

Convenient | Accurate | Insurance Reimbursement Code

This is a simple, but professional, clinical laboratory analysis that measures your blood lipid profile, namely:

  • triglycerides
  • total cholesterol
  • HDL ("good") cholesterol, and
  • calculated LDL ("bad") cholesterol.

By comparing your initial results to the results of subsequent tests, you can determine the progress you have made in lowering your blood fat levels, and, therefore, reducing your overall coronary risk.

High Triglycerides Reduced Nutritionally At 40+ - Fasting is required before blood sample collection Fasting Required

As triglyceride levels are related to the time you ate and when you collected the sample, the triglyceride level must be what is called a "fasting level."

Fasting should begin 12 to 14 hours before the sample collection. This includes all beverages, although water is permitted.

No alcohol should be taken 24 hours before sample collection.

PLEASE NOTE: Food eaten at much as 2 weeks before sample collection may still affect results. Ideally, the most accurate assessment of your blood lipid levels can be provided by a balanced diet three to six (3-6) months prior to sample collection.

High Triglycerides Reduced Nutritionally At 40+ - Specimen Collection A Simple Nick of Your Finger

The process of specimen (blood) collection is

  • quick
  • easy and virtually
  • painless.

Using the special lancet (included in each Blood Collection Kit), a couple of drops of blood are taken from a nick of a finger and deposited onto a special collection card.

The collection card is then sent to the laboratory for analysis where the blood sample is tested.

High Triglycerides Reduced Nutritionally At 40+ - How to Ensure a Proper Sample? Ensuring a Proper Sample

It is important to follow the instructions in the Blood Collection Kit. To ensure a proper sample, the following suggestions should be taken into serious consideration:

  • wash your hands with warm water
  • rub your hands together for 10 seconds
  • allow your arm to rest at your side for 30 seconds (standing may also help blood flow), and
  • choose an area slightly off of center on the finger to be nicked (this will produce a better blood flow).

PLEASE NOTE: With every Blood Collection Kit, there are included two lancets. So if you do not get an adequate blood sample from the first finger nick you may still use the second lancet on another finger.

High Triglycerides Reduced Nutritionally At 40+ - Dry Blood Spot Values Vs. Whole Blood Values Dry Blood Spot Values Vs. Whole Blood Values

Dry blood spot values are equal to serum and/or whole blood values found in numerous clinical studies.

However, patient results from one lab to another cannot be directly compared because individual laboratories use different methods for testing, which can cause variations in results.

Therefore, your results of the Home Collected Triglycerides Test may be different from the last one you took in your doctor's office.

In order to decrease these possible test variances, it is always advisable to use the same laboratory for repeat medical testing.

PLEASE NOTE: Significant variations in blood test results can be also produced by basic body changes, when compared to the time elapsed between tests.

This Test Is For You

Home Collected Triglycerides Test is for you, if

  • you have known elevated triglycerides and/or cholesterol levels and
  • you already have evidence of cardiovascular health problems and/or
  • you have two or more of the other cardiovascular risk factors.

If you are currently on a triglyceride-lowering program you may need to have your lipids re-tested as often as every 2- 3 months.

If you are diabetic, it is very important for you to have your triglycerides measured. Diabetes can increase triglycerides significantly, especially when your blood sugar is out of control.

In addition, you should get a thorough medical evaluation by a health care professional. You should also have a Liver Enzyme Panel test performed to determine if your blood lipid/triglycerides/cholesterol reduction program is working effectively.

High Triglycerides Reduced Nutritionally At 40+ - Prevention First Prevention First

Remember, just because you don’t currently exhibit any signs of cardiovascular health problems, it doesn’t mean you won’t develop them.

NOW is the best time for prevention. Otherwise, a high blood lipids (fats) level, as well as other risk factors, can lead to possible serious health problems in the future.

As high blood lipids are the risk factors for cardiovascular health problems that you can modify - don’t delay finding out if you’re at risk.

Your life is too important!

PLEASE NOTE:
At Full of Health, we recommend Home Collected Triglycerides Test because we find it the most beneficial to your health in its category.
It is the FDA-approved and the only micro-sample lipid panel to exceed the performance standards of the NCEP; no other self-collected test can make these claims.
